1- Jane was waiting for me when I arrived
2- What did you do yesterday ? I was asleep.
3- Did you go out last night ? No I was too tired
4- Was Carol at the party yesterday ? Yes she was wearing a really nice dress  (ou she wore a really nice dress : l'action est terminée mais elle a toujours sa robe et ce n'était qu'hier...she wore , ça fait bizarre)
5- How fast were you driving when the accident happened ?
6- John took a photograph while I wasn't looking.
7- We were on a very diffficult position. We didn't know what to do.
8- The last time I saw Georges, he was trying to find a job in London
9- I was walking along the street when suddenly I heard footsteps behind me.
10- Somebody was following me. I was frightened and I started to run
