I will talk about the subject myth and heroes. At first, one ought not to confuse a myth and a hero. A myth can be defined as a story about gods or heroes, it can be a popular belief or a tradition or a false notion . His history often is personified by a hero, a place or a community. The hero can be an invented or real character that has marked the history, the daily life, traditions of a country. These two definitions depend from the culture or from the society. To illustrate this notion, I will focus on a founding myth of the American Nation.
Is the American dream a myth or a reality? To answer this question we will see the different myth concerning the American dream and if this notion is really true.

The United States were for a long time an expanding(carrier) dream country ( American Dream), of hope and the real limits of the model change it nothing: the United States are often seen as a contemporary El Dorado . Leur popular culture became a culture world known and recognized by the Hollywood cinema and the television from the 60s, spreading(broadcasting) a fantasized model of life: it is expanding(carrier) American Way of life of the American dream .le American cinema is vectors of " American way of life. En effet Most people nowadays hope that they will get married, have two children and live in a three-bedroom traditional home , to aspire to a better life. For example ,( voir sur internet description chanson ) dans la chanson The America is seen as a land of opportunity ; a place of abundance , of wealth , prosperily , luxury , , a paradise , a place of sensual pleasures and free dricking .
En effet, The American dream means that everyone living in the United States can be successful thanks to his effort, his courage or his determination even if he starts from scratch . C’est pour cela que ce modèle attire particulièrement les immigrants (notamment irish , latins Americans au 20th to escape from persecution , les juifs au 20th country lors de la seconde guerre mondiale ) mais aussi des chercheurs espagnols , français because there are des grandes universités , un centre de recherche…)
Bill Gates is also a myth of the American dream. He started not with nothing but he stopped school and nobody known that he bbecame one of the richest in the world.
Michael Jackson also embodies this dream. He was Tyne first afro american who has his video clip passed on the music channel MTV.
That's some myth of the American dream but is this dream really true?
Indeed the reality is quite different sometimes. This dream is an illusion fort some people. It opens our eyes to the economic crisis and the unemployment. Cartoon : In the April 2010 , the State of Arizona passed a law stipulating that if a person looks like an immigrant they are likely to be taken to the police station for further information . The humorous drawing shows the Statue of liberty in a red , cowertible car , driving across the desert of Arizona . She has been asked by a police officer to pull over ( on the side ) because she is green skinned therefore according to the 2010 law , she must be an illegal immigrant . It is clear this is a case of racial profiling which is a crime in democracy . The American dream is debounked by this situation and turns into a nightmare for immigrants : the law is unfair , risky and immoral . We notice that the attributes of the Statue of liberty have been discarded , and flung onto the passenger seat : they don’t seem to be useful or efficient anymore . The law wants to get red of a problem illegal immigration but by doing so , it ( the law) destroys the myth of America as a land of welcome and of a shelter ( a voir sur cahier) . Loroever , There also is a lot of competition since everyone wants to go to USA to realize this dream. So most of people don't succeed very well. Actually all American are not rich. More than half American population earn less19 thousand euro a year . 40 millions d’americains vivent sous le seuil de la pauvreté

To conclude Americans don't hide the past successes of the American dream, but they agree to say that today it's almost impossible. But, the United States remains an attractive country. Even today, many people dream to visiting this country for their cultures, their food or for the most adventurous try to achieve the American dream. For me this is just a dream because it's to difficult to realize it.
