It's Mother's Day today, and I wanted to tell you that I loved you directly, but here I am writing a letter, because you're visiting Grandpa. Is he ok? Will he recover from that terrible illness he has? I really hope so. Well, I did bought you a present, but I'll put it on your pillow, so that tonight you will have a nice little surprise when you come back home. I hope you'll like it. It should be what you asked me to buy you, but It's just a little different; though I think you'll like it anyway. 

Okay, I love you very very very much, mommy. Happy Mother's day!

Hi Mum !
I would have prefered to tell you how much I love you rather than sending you a postcard. But I know what you're going through with grandpa.
I really hope he's getting better.
(j'aurai préféré te dire combien je t'aimes plutôt qu' envoyer une carte postale. Mais je sais par quoi tu passes (c'est du mot à mot anglais-français ça fait pas super mais c'est comme ça qu'on dit en anglais) avec  GP et j'espère qu'il va mieux.

A soon as you come back, we'll organize a nice evening. Afterall, Mother's day doesn't need to be a special day of the year.......it should be every day Mother's day !!
