There are billions of fish, and the ingestion of 12,000 tons of plastics is simply a guess anyway. The studies can not possibly prove the fish ate that much plastic to start with. As far as I am concerned, it is like the old saying. " much ado about nothing". First I'll just say the fact fish are ingesting that much is disgusting and appalling. Something has to be done to reduce that waste. As for the quote, I don't necessarily think the ocean goes inside of us because in many places the water's clean with no waste at all, so nothing would really be going inside unless drinking the ocean water counted. I think it's probably true. And all that plastic is probably contaminating the fish. It's sad, that so many people are so disrespectful of the world God gave us to live in. And I've read where farm raised fish aren't any better for us. It's a conundrum.
