Zombie is a protest song by the Irish band The Cranberries, which appeared on the album No Need to argue in 1994. Zombie was recorded at Willindmall Lane Studios in Dublin, Ireland, in 19944. It was written during the English tour Cranberries ' English tour in 1993. In memory of two boys, Jonathan Ball and Tim Parry, who were killed by the Provisional Irish Republican Army in a shopping mall during the Warrington attacks on 20 March 1993. The zombie metaphor evokes the arms manufacturers, but also the British Army soldiers who act as undead, without thinking, perpetuating violence, but also civilians who have lived like zombies, in fear of Bombs and bombings.
