Myths and Heros.



I am going to talk about the notion of Myths and Heroes.
A myth can be defined as a story about gods or heroes, it can be a popular belief or a tradition or a false notion. A hero can be a mythological figure, a person who is admired for his or her achievements, a superhero or maybe a role model or an icon.


Pb:Can Black People live the American dream ?

At first we will see the American dream, what is myth?
Secondly is this the réality?

A . Le myth du rêve américain.

In general, the American Dream can be defined as having the opportunity and freedom that allows all citizens to achieve their goals in life through hard work and determination alone.
The American dream is for many considered a myth


This year in class we studied the rappeur Eminem


Eminem a vécu le rêve américain il est parti de tous en bas pour arriver tout en haut.
Dans sa chanson Loose yourself ou encore le film 8 mile ,il nous raconte son histoire.
Vivant dans un milieu difficile d'afro- américain étant de couleur blanche.
Il écrit des textes de raps mais n’arrive pas à assurer sa prestation devant tout le monde lors d’une battle , il se fait alors hué.
Eminem décide alors de se battre lors d’un prochain combat et d’affronter sa peur il épate alors tout le monde , eminem est devenu une star partant de rien il s’est battu et a réussi à atteindre son rêve, le rêve américain.

Eminem lived the American dream he left all down to get to the top.
In his song Loose yourself or the 8-mile film, he tells us his story.
Living in a difficult African-American environment being white.
He writes rap texts but can not manage to perform in front of everyone during a battle, he is then booed.
Eminem then decides to fight during a future fight and to face his fear he amazes everyone then, eminem became a star starting from nothing he fought and managed to achieve his dream, the American dream.

it's not necessarily true.
For exemple with segregation in the United States in the '60s

This is the reason whythe blacks were lynched, They had to drink in distributors to reserve "people of colors", walk on sidewalks reserved for black, leave their places in the bus to whites, they were also deprived of all civil rights and opportunity to participate to the public space.

However mentalities evolved thanks to the famous speech of Martin Luther King "I have a dream" then with the election of the black president barack obama.

Nowadays, there has been some progress but there are still judgments on colors. Black unemployment is always higher than that of whites or their incomes are lower, there is no equity.
In the United States, being black remains a social handicap. This persistence in American racial segregation is a problem of race and not of class.
