Bonjour,

A. Dear readers column,
Please help me! I am so frustrated. I love my mother very much, but she’s so much better than me at everything. I love computing, but she is even better at it than me! For example, this week I asked her for help on my math homework because I didn’t understand it. She did all of it and explained them to me in less than five minutes. It’s been so many years since she’s been in school, and she still knows everything better than me. And it’s not only that. She better at Running, playing piano, cooking, and so much more. I can’t cook at all. I don’t want to be jealous of my mother. What should I do?
B. Dear Becky,
I know this situation is very frustrating. But think about how much older your mother is than you. She has so much more experience and she’s had many years to practice these things. Eventually, as you get older you will become better. Also, you can be good at anything right now by practicing a lot. Remember, no one is good at everything, not even your mother. Try to figure out what you’re good at and focus on improving. Find your own passion and try not to compare yourself to others.
