One of them was named Charlotte Brown, a young girl of 15 years living in the United-States. She became blind when she was a kid. She is a great athlete, particularly at the pole vault. To my mind, this athlete is a hero : even if she is handicapped and that her two legs has been amputated, she won some competitions in front of fast and non-disabled people. Some people can say that this is only a matter of chance or that this is normal, and maybe it's true, but she is very brave to have come this far. In my opinion, Charlotte can be considered as a hero because she showed the whole world and especially handicapped people that it is possible to overcome those handicaps, to do everything that we want to do if we have courage and will.
Indeed, many other people in the world of sports are also considered like real heroes, recognized in the entire world despite their handicap, such as Oscar Pisrtorius, from South-Africa, in race. He is the first athlete to run with artificial legs in regular competitions like the Olympics Games.
Ce n'est sûrement pas parfait donc j'invite les autres à me corriger si nécessaire !
