1) The pictures are weird and wonderful, some of them are a little bit creepy since they are in black and white, they are very different and creative. My favorite has to be the Nightmare before Christmas picture where you can see a skeleton standing on what looks to be a wave and you can see the moon in the background.
2) They are all in black and white and have a creepy vibe to them, Burton's style is of the crazy and adventurous side of things and it brings out things in a different way that nobody has thought of before.
