A myth can be defined as a story about gods or heroes, it can be as a result of popular belief, tradition or a false notion. A hero can be a mythological figure, a person who is admired for his or her achievements, a superhero, a role model or an icon. I am going to talk about two people who,to me, are heroes; Chuck Yeager and Neil Armstrong.
Chuck Yeager was born in February, 1923 in November, 1943 and went on to become an ace of the aviation. During the war (specify the war you are referring to.), he shot down thirteen German planes.
After the war, he stays in the US air forces and becomes a pilot-instructor, he then later also works as a test pilot.
In 1947, he gets possessed with the urge of breaking (revise this segment) the sound barrier. He makes several tries for several months and ends up losing control in one of the attempts.
Moments before he breaks the sound barrier, Yeager breaks a rib but he prefers to hide it because he wants to try again. ( continue with the same tense you had picked)
After this incidence, he visited a doctor and found a way to close the side door of his plane. (stick to a particular tense)
It's during this (referring to a specific try that you haven't mentioned) try that he became the first man who managed to exceed the speed of sound and come out of it alive.
After that, he received many distinctions.
Neil Armstrong was born in August, 1930 to Wapakoneta in Ohio.
From an early age, Neil is interested in aviation. At 2 years old, his father takes him to the air races of Cleveland and at the age of 6, he makes his first flight.
He obtains his pilot's licence on the day of his sixteenth birthday, before even attaining his driving licence. He does pilot's training course in the navy. He becomes a test pilot in 1955. In 1958, he is selected to be a member of the program "Man In Space Soonest".
In 1962, he is chosen as one of the six pilot engineers likely to pilot the plane in the space if the project becomes a reality. In December , 1968 Slayton announces to Armstrong that he was chosen as commander of Apollo 11, the first mission which could land on the Moon. ( A mission could be the first to land on the moon)
On July 16th, 1969, Neil Armstrong takes off in the direction of the moon with Buzz Aldrin.
5 days later, he is the first man to walk on the Moon and pronounces the famous sentence: "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind".
After that, Armstrong also received many distinctions.
He dies in August, 2012 and president Obama declared: "Neil Armstrong was a hero not just of his time, but of all time "
I consider these two people as heroes because they risked their life for science. This risk-taking has allowed us/mankind to take forward (enhance) the researches about the aviation and about the moon.
They are also the first ones to have made these exploits and have quite both received many distinctions for their action and their bravery.
They made a success their exploits by going at the end of their passions, what's respectable.(revise this sentence)
A last point (in conclusion), Neil Armstrong succeeded in all that he began (started)
Both are heroes anyone would want to be.
