Elvis Presley was and is one of the most famous entertainers and best-selling artists this world has come to know. Known as the "King of Rock and Roll , this icon became relative to the entertainment world in late 1953 to his untimely death in 1977.
Not only was Elvis known for his record breaking music, but he was also known for his acting roles in thirty-three movies and his very famous television appearances. Let's travel back in time to January 8th, 1935 in the small town of Tupelo, Mississippi, Elvis' birthday and birth place. The king was born Elvis Aaron Presley to Vernon and Gladys Presley, Elvis originally a twin, survived while his twin Jessie tragically died right after birth. The family was very poor, but close knit and his parents did everything possible to provide for him. Elvis started off at the young of ten years old, wowing audiences in a talent show at Mississippi-Alabama fair and dairy show. The very next year, Elvis' parents bought him his first guitar, adding to his musical imagination and talents. Throughout his neighborhood, Elvis was constantly influenced by black bluesman and country music on the radio, which later could be heard throughout his musical style in the future.
At the start of 1948, Elvis and his family packed up their belongings and left the town of Tupelo for the grand city of Memphis, Tennessee in search of a better life. After settling in, Elvis arrived on the scene of a new school, L.C. Humes High School. Elvis once again wowed crowds at a talent show, this time at his school, winning first place and even performing an encore in 1953. Later that year on June 3rd, Elvis graduates high school and does what just about any teen would do, lands himself a job. ...
