John Fitzgerald Kennedy was the 35th president of the United States. He was born 29 May 1917 in Brookline. Kennedy was known by the acronym JFK. He is the son of Joseph Kennedy and Rose Fitzgerald. His father was a wealthy businessman. The Kennedy family were a great family because he were nine children. Kennedy was Irish and came from Catholic family. First, John began his studies in the Choate School in Wallingford. In 1935, he entered the London School of Economics. Then, he included Princeton University. The following year, he was admitted to Harvard. In 1941, John Kennedy wanted to go into the army, but he learned that he had back problems. He was therefore unable to make the army. In 1953, he married Jacqueline and they had four children. However, one of the children died soon after.
JFK was also known for his famous quote: “Ich Bin Ein Berliner”. His father wanted that his son become US presidents. Kennedy began a political career. Kennedy was a candidate of the Democratic Party. In 1960, at the age of 43 years, he was elected president of the United Sates to face Richard Nixon. He won the election by 49.8 %. He surpassed his opponent by 0.17 %.
During his presidency, there was a Cuban missile crisis that occurred. He adjusted the problem and pushed the Soviets. Then, he did a space program to send an American on the moon. John also wanted to end racial segregation and met Martin Luther King. During his presidency, he also revived the economy and trying to prevent any expansion of communism in the world.
JFK was assassinated on 22 November 1963 in Dallas, at the age of 46 years. We will never be the exact causes of this murder. However, the murderer was Lee Harvey Oswald. He will be himself assassinated two days later by Jack Ruby.
