Although, the fact that nowadays the population is controled, watched and protected would greatly decrease the chances of travelling. Has said before, you can't travel alone when under age. An other thing to be mentionned is that, nowadays, every little parts of the world has been discivered and conquered.
But, the improvement of technologies as enabled us to extend our actions. For exemple, we now can reach space, travel to the moon and maybe in phew years reach Mars. This show us that even thought we can't go in adventures like before we still can discover things we couldnt back in the times
