In the context of a school
exchange that lasted a year, I have had the chance to go to the
United Kingdom, more specifically in London.
I stayed in the Akers
family and their dog Tracey who was just adorable. I know the capital
of the country is not a very original place to go, but after this
trip I would definitely call it a must-see. Speaking only in english
for as much time was quite odd but allowed me to perfect my accent
and vocabulary which was exactly what I was looking forward to in
this trip.
During this past year I
have spent so much time visiting I feel like I know the town by
heart. I, of course, went to see Buckingham Palace in my many
destinations and even caught sight of the queen.
What surprised me the most
I must admit was the difference between the stereotypes set on
English men and women and the reality of it. Even if these are
popular dishes fish and chips or tea are not for everyday. But one
thing that could not be more true is the pride they have for
Elizabeth II their queen.
