This woman of character that has marked the history of France "thanks" to its painful past during the deportation, but especially thanks to his struggle for the status of women. After a jewish family, Simone Veil was born Simone Annie Jacob, lived a happy childhood, which was shattered by nazism. She was deported at the age of 16 years at Auschwitz during the Holocaust where she lost his father and his brother. She only owes its survival to its late arrival in 1944 and his good health in the extermination camps. She was discharged in 1945 with her sisters, which allowed him to marry Antoine Veil and to continue his studies in order to undertake great things then.
