If Internet is used in a correct way, to help you for your job , studies or if it's your job, it shouldn't modify your personality.
However, studies have been made in the States. Most people working in the Silicon Valley are addicted to everything that can be connected; either computers, cell phones... And they loose interest in their own family life.In the Silicon Valley , special summer camps are organised every year to learn to come back to real life. people are completely disconnected : nothing as cell phones, or anything else is allowed.
Because, nowadays, when you walk in the streets, how many people do you see without a cell phone. It's like walking among bubbles...!!
In Internet, some people do things they would never do in the "real" life as posting some weird comments, as posting some suggestive pictures.....
As if they thought, that they were hidden by theirs screens, that they could do things they wouldn't dare to do in the real life.
Do they realize how it can be harmfull to read nasty comments or insults from someone you don't even know. ....
Both, the one who are posting and those who are answering and sharing without asking if they can or not, are responsible. Internet and its social networks aren't a game. It's a potential danger.
Parents shouldn't allow their kids to go on social networks without talking to them before, and explain how dangerous it can be.
I'm quite fed ud of teenagers or 10 to 12 years old kids committing suicides because they are bullied on Internet.
I had a friend .....Paul..he had a Facebook account. At school, people used to gently bully him but not in a nasty way. I don't have any social networks (and, however, I still have lots of real friends) and I don't miss them (I mean the networks !). So let's go back to Paul. As the other kids were kidding him so much, he was spending his time on Internet. Until someone discovered his account. And then, he really changed. I didn't realize what was going on, just because he didn't want to talk about it and he never told me anything. His marks began to be worse and worse. And one day, he wasn't at school . I thought he was sick or something like that. No. He had hung himself.He was 12 years old... His parents discovered afterwards what he had been going through when they looked at his computer....... I was so angry and sad and mad .... I didn't go to school for a week and when I came back, things were different. I've always been wandering who could have done that ?? Maybe, no one from the school....When you are on Internet and talk to virtual friends, it can be any one and he/she can tell you everything you just want to hear...How can you check ?
And when a girl is posting nice pictures of her and she receives lots of "like",
she's happy and proud....But where those do likes come from ??
Well, to conclude, if you're using Internet for your knowledge, to find out informations, it won't change your life.
If you can't help you to switch it on every time till late at night, you're a net addict.
And if you have several social networks, please be careful.....
