In France, we drive on the right side as in England , they drive on the left.
The English breakfast is much more important than ours . They eat eggs and bacon, either scrambled eggs or fried eggs,sausages, beans with tomato sauce, toasts with marmalade they more often drink tea than coffee.
In a hotel,, if you want a French breakfast , you'll have to order a "continental breakfast" otherwise you'll have the whole set and it's often called "American breakfast " !
The five o'clock tea is very important and much more usual than in France. You'll have a nice cup of tea with some scones for example.
They usually eat earlier than we do. Lunchtime is around 11a.m. , ours is more around 12: 30 and diner time is around 6 o'clock p.m. . We have diner around 8 p.m.
In many English schools, they have to wear a uniform (attention on ne dit pas "an uniform") as we have very few schools in France nowadays where uniform has to be worn (il y a très peu d'écoles en France où l'uniforme doit être porté - to wear /wore /worn) (si tu n'as pas appris la voix passive = change avec = as we rarely wear uniforms nowadays (de nos jours) at school in France).
English people like jelly, we don't; they eat lots of fish'n chips, we don't .
The food is quite different in usual families. They eat a lot of fried food and very few vegetables. They have a chef, James Oliver, who campaigned for an healthier food.
We, in France, have a lot of "café", English people have "pubs" . They are drinking lots of beer and they're often drunk by ten p.m. I'm not sure , but before pubs used to close at 10p.m., I think, so that's why they were so drunk .
We, in France, don't really care about our President and First Lady that much. In England, they love so much the Royal Family. When the Princess is pregnant, they are ready to bet hundred of pounds whether the baby will be a boy or a girl , and his/her name!!! (Ils adoooorent !) la Famille Royale. Quand la princesses est enceinte, ils sont prêts à pariers des centaines de "pounds" si l'enfant sera un garçon ou une fille et le prénom)
Probablement encore beaucoup de choses.....
