In the fifties the South of the USA was heavily segregated.
The blacks were not allowed to go to the same plublic places as the whites, such as toilets, restaurants....
They had to sit at the back of buses and up stair in cinemas.
They were not authorized to vote.
Quelques dates:
1954: one little black girl went to a white school. The segregation of public school was in constructional.
1955: one black boy takes a bus but the police didn't want. The bus was segregated in 1956.
1957: 9 blacks students went to the Rock high school. The president says they must protect them with the Army.
1963: one man organised a piece of March in Washington to pronon his speech " I have a dream"
