I am going to speak about Michael Joseph Jackson, who was born on August 29th, 1958 in Gary in Indiana. He died on June 25th, 2009 at 50 years old in Los Angeles in California. He is the seventh child out of the nine of the family. His father's name is Joseph Jackson and his mother's name is Katherine Scrune. He/Michael/Jackson was an actor, a composer, a dancer, a choreographer, and a American actor. He had several music styles among which was the disco, the funk, the hip-hop, the new jack swing, the pop … etcetera.
Jackson had an authoritarian father who was uncompromising. He expressed it during an intervention in 2003 talking about when his father mistreated them physically and mentally. He laughed a lot about Michael's nose. Indeed, he called it "Big nose". Michael suffered from multiple emotional difficulties, nightmares, disorders of sleep, lack of self-confidence, and tended to remain childish. By all accounts, music was very present in his family. Their uncovered father whom took part in these songs had a talent in his old days. Tito had broken a rope of his guitar to demonstrate and prove what he could do.
He began playing in the group “The Jackson Five” in 1964, composed of his four older brothers and himself. Michael became the lead singer thanks to his voice that was mature for his age. Then, they began singing together and won all competition to which they participated. In 1918, Berry Gordy, the president of the Motown Music label summoned the "Jackson Five" for an audition, and they accepted. In 1969, the group was officially presented to the press by Diana Ross. Their first national hit was a song composed by Joseph Jackson, “I Want You Back,” which appeared on their first album. Diana Ross presented The Jackson 5. Jackson Five’s fame kept growing and the young Michael became the audience’s favourite/favorite.
At the same time, as he was still singing for the band, he began a solo career in 1972-1973.
Michael Jackson especially became known for his second album "Thriller" in 1982 when the Jackson split. Since then, we call him “The king of pop”.
Personally, I chose Michael Jackson because he’s an artist I always listened to since I was young : he made my childhood. I decided to develop this moment of his life because in my opinion, a career starts and is important if we want to make ourselves known ; thus, he had a very good start and I admire that.
