Georges Washington is born the 22/02/1732 in Pop’s Creek and he died the 14/12/1799 in Mount Vernon. He was Chief of Staff of the Continental Army during the War of Independence between 1775 and 1783 and first President of the United States, in office from 1789 to 1797. Washington is one of the richest planters in the region with its Mount Vernon estate. Thanks to its participation in the war he quickly became famous on both sides of the Atlantic and became interested in political issues. Considered one of the founding fathers of the United States by the Americans, George Washington received many tributes, since the end of the 18th century: its name has been given to the capital of the United States, to a state in the northwest of the Union, and to many sites and monuments.
