It all start with a common letter from Lady Susan to her brother in law Mr Charles Vernon. She's announcing him her next visit at his house, so said to rest and getting to know her wife better. In her next letter, she tells her friend Mrs Johnson ( Cette phrase ne veut rien dire, tu as sûrement oublié la suite). We learn more about the true goal and the young lady's history. Lady Susan have just met Mr Manwaring who, although he's married, is trying to seduce her, and Sir James Martin, who she would like to marry her daughter. But that one had refused the proposal. Lady Susan is know thinking of sending her daughter to a lodging school. She also confess hating her brother in law and sister in law.
The third letter is written by Mrs Vernon to her mother. She's telling her that Lady Susan's visit threats their projects of meeting for Christmas. She has issues concerning her sister in law's coming... She's also announcing that Reginald, her younger brother, will come. He only knows Lady Susan by her reputation.
