This was a cover painting of one of The Saturday Evening Post. Norman Rockwell' favorite subjects were older persons, children and pets.
Rockwell was becoming the illustrator of this newspaper, but the director didn't like too much the grandpa, called Gramps. Rockwell painted this cover five times as he didn't want to loose this job.
This one is called Gramps at the plate. So here Gramps is ready to knock
the pitcher with his baseball bat. And we wonder if the little boy will be as quick and fast
In the article I read, they say that obviously Norman Rockwell wasn't do good in telling stories.....
C'est un peu bizarre. L'histoire est surtout sut le mal que s'est donné Rockwell pour satisfaire Mr Mortimer du Saturday Evening Post
