Smalltown Rovers in shock victory!!!
The air was heavy with the dread and anticipation of defeat as the Smalltown Rovers took to the field this Saturday for their charity fixture against Big City United.
Nobody could have anticipated the shocking events that would culminate in a Small-town win.
Small-town were slow at the offset and seemed to be playing defensively until Big City's Warren in shirt 13 turned purple in the face and was escorted off the pitch with an allergic reaction to Beetroot.
This somehow encouraged Small-town who performed a line of headers that even a group of performing seals would struggle to equal. Small-town's Heath scored the first goal and the keeper for Big City was too busy laughing on the floor to try to defend.
Small-Town made a row of players who all took off their boots and began to juggle them. Only when the ref's whistle blew did the crowd and players notice that Hector had carefully dribbled the ball into the net.
The whistle blew for half time and the teams went back to their changing rooms.
Small-Town's main striker, Potts, had his mother deliver her famous steak and ale pies to the opposition who ate them up hungrily.
The second half began badly for Big City who found they were too full to run around and they spent the remainder of the match signing autographs for the spectators while Small-Town racked up a ridiculous win of 55-0.
I doubt we will ever see a match like it again.
When interviewed after the match, Mrs Potts was proudly holding her 'Man of the match' plaque and was held aloft as the team celebrated.
WE tried to interview the manager for Big-City but he was too distressed to comment.
