Today i'm going to talk about the notion myth and heroes. First of all i would like to give you a quick definition. A myth can be defined as a story about gods or heroes, it can be a popular belief or a tradition or a false notion.
A hero can be a mythological figure, a person who is admired for his or her achievements, a superhero or maybe a role model or an icon. They can be fictional like Superman, Batman and others…But here, we shall be interested at hero we studies in class, Steve Jobs and Jeff Bezos.

Steve Jobs:
Steve Jobs (1995-2011) was an American entrepreneur co founder of Apple. We studied a motivation speech delivered by Steves Jobs. On this speech he his talking about his life, how his mother chose his news parents. She wanted that Steves Jobs can go to collège an dbe graduate. But he reveal that is give up one's studies and never be graduated from college. Steve Jobs narrate that he following his curiosity and intuition. He never look back on one's past.

Jeff Bezos:
Jeff Bezos is an entrepreneur and the founder of Amazon. He was one of the first to seriously consider retail through the Internet and risked everythin to make his dream a reality. He left a very well paying job on Wall Street and moved West to begin his company out of his garage. Bezos was creating a Internet bases business in a time when many people didn't even know that the internet existed. This is why he will go down in history as a pionner.
The term "pioneer" in America originally referred to those who ventured out west to explore uncharted territories. The term is now used to describe anyone who develops and applies somthing new for the first time.

Self-Made-Man:
Now i will talk the myth of the Self Made Man, it's a person who is born poor but who achieve economic success with his hardwork . This is a fondamental idea of US. Us believe that anybody get in the top with hardwork. These two man are a good example about this Myth : Steve Jobs and Jeff Bezos are the American ideal of the self-made man. They made themself alone, with optimism, passion. They took risks, fell and got up

American Dreams
James Truslow Adams in 1931 gave a definition of the American Dream:
"Life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement" regardless of social class or circumstances of birth".
The American dream is rooted in the Declaration of Independence: "all men are created equal" with the right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness".
The American dream is the notion that the American social, economic, and political system makes success possible for every individual.
In class we studied the song « American Land » who is talking about the emigrants who are coming in America to make a better living.
The song explains that arriving in the countries of America, here at Ellis Island, it is able to improve his life and earn more money. The author website of many nationalities who will journey: Black, Irish, Germans and Jews. All believe achieve their dream. However this is a myth. They were often poor and they had a hard life.
