Maleficent is an american Disney movie directed by Robert Stromberg and released in 2014.
It’s a rewriting of the Disney’s animated film Sleeping Beauty and consequently, it’s a rewriting of the original fairy tale of Charles Perrault La belle au bois dormant, published in 1697; which was inspired by an old story Sun,Moon and Talia by Italian poet Giambattista Basile written in the early 17th century.
The film portrays the story from the perspective of the evil witch,Maleficent, depicting her conflicted relationship with the king of a corrupt kingdom and his daughter.
Because it’s produced by the Disney company, it’s obviously a rewriting of their animated movie like we can see with the appearance of Maleficent that is similar in both of the movie.
