BACK TO NATURE
For years, Richard Polson had lived a crazy life: he used to be a perfect businessman in Wall Street, NYC, making big money. He had a large SUV▪. He spent his life between Wall Street and all the major cities in the world. He spent more time in planes than with his family! They went shopping in huge supermarkets around their home in NYC
. But one day, on a trip west, fascinated by the magic of nature, he understood that his life had no sense. It was just about money, about buying and selling things.
So he decided to leave the financial world and go back to a simple life. Richard, his wife Sheril and their two children moved to Pomfret, a little town in Connecticut. There , they re-discovered nature.
The family has sold their large apartment and has decided to build an environmentally friendly house. They have installed solar panels on the roof, a rainwater tank* and a large fireplace. They have chosen excellent insulation to reduce their energy consumption. “This is the home of the future, respectful of the environment”, Richard’s wife said. The Polsons have become recycling champions! They recycle paper, batteries, aluminium cans, glass, etc... They have sold their SUV* and have bought a hybrid car. And Richard has become an excellent gardener too : all his vegetables are organic.
Richard still works for Wall Street but mostly on the Internet: he doesn’t work 90 hours a day anymore !
Before, he lived in a world where money was important. “ I know that a life respectful of people and the planet is the most important” , he declared.
