I think it is a good idea because celebrities are famous, so there fans will look at there job and want the same product as the one promoted by the celebrity. All the fans will buy the product and the company will make a lot of profit. But it could also be bad because the product will be known for the celebrity and not the product it self. So if the celebrity does something bad, the product will not sell anymore. We can conclude that it is a very good idea if the celebrity keeps a good image.
